Van Driver & Counterbalance FLT Driver – Coalville, East Midlands

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Van Driver & Counterbalance FLT Driver to join our well-established client based in Coalville, East Midlands.

This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as a Delivery Driver, FLT Operator or Counterbalance Truck Driver

Rates of Pay:

• £14.25 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• 06:00 – 15:00
• Temp-to-perm opportunity

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a Van Driver & Counterbalance FLT Driver are:

• Safely operating and driving a van for deliveries
• Operating a counterbalance forklift truck safely and efficiently
• Carrying out daily pre-shift and post-shift vehicle checks
• Completing forklift safety checks before use
• Ensuring all loads are secured correctly before transportation
• Loading and unloading vehicles using the counterbalance FLT where required
• Moving and organising stock safely within the warehouse/yard
• Adhering to all road traffic laws, site safety procedures and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with transport teams, warehouse staff and customers
• Reporting vehicle or forklift defects and maintenance issues promptly
• Supporting loading and unloading duties where required
• Heavy lifting may be involved depending on deliveries

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Van Driver & Counterbalance FLT Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category B driving licence
• A minimum of 12 months’ driving experience
• Counterbalance FLT Licence that is RTITB or ITSSAR accredited
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
• No major endorsement codes
• A good level of spoken and written English
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• A good understanding of road traffic laws and driver regulations
• Strong communication skills
• Physical fitness due to the nature of the role
• Ability to operate a forklift safely and follow site safety procedures
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Multi-drop delivery experience
• Previous warehouse or yard experience
• Experience operating a counterbalance forklift
• Experience loading and unloading goods

Training:

• Industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
