MIG Welder (Sheet Metal) – Telford

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a MIG Welder (Sheet Metal) to join our well-established manufacturing client based in Telford.

This role would suit candidates with experience as a MIG Welder, Sheet Metal Welder, Welder Fabricator, Fabrication Welder, Metal Worker or Production Welder.

Shifts

  • Days: 06:00 – 18:00 (3 positions available)
  • Nights: 18:00 – 06:00 (3 positions available)

Rates of Pay

  • Starting from £13.50 per hour, depending on experience and shift

Day-to-Day Duties

As a MIG Welder (Sheet Metal), your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Performing MIG welding on sheet metal components to a high standard
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and job specifications
  • Setting up welding equipment and ensuring correct settings for each job
  • Assembling and fabricating metal components using MIG welding techniques
  • Preparing, cutting and welding sheet metal components to engineering drawings
  • Carrying out quality inspections to ensure completed welds meet required standards
  • Operating welding equipment and associated workshop machinery safely and efficiently
  • Using hand tools and measuring equipment to complete fabrication tasks
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times
  • Following all company health and safety procedures

Essential Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of six months’ experience in MIG welding sheet metal
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • A good level of physical fitness, as heavy lifting may be required

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Welding qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential
  • Experience working to production targets and quality standards

Training Provided

  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
