HGV Class 1 Driver – Stoney Stanton

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver – Stoney Stanton to join our well-established client based in Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work throughout the year, and genuine opportunities for long-term progression, including the potential for a permanent position.

This role would suit an experienced LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver looking for a stable position with consistent work and excellent earning potential.

Rates of Pay:

• £20.00 per hour
• £25.00 night out allowance

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday tramping
• 4 nights out per week
• 04:00 start time

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will work:

• Completing 2-3 drops per day using a curtain-side trailer
• Pulling curtains and securing loads using ratchet straps
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly
• Adhering to traffic laws, company procedures and delivery schedules
• Completing all relevant paperwork accurately

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid GB Class 1 / Category CE driving licence
• A minimum of two years’ experience driving Class 1 / Category CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
• A valid CPC Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent knowledge of driver regulations and road safety requirements

Training:

• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• Industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support and development
