CNC Sliding Head Programmer / Setter – Wolverhampton

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Sliding Head Programmer / Setter to join our established engineering client based in Wolverhampton on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with Citizen Cincom and sliding head machining experience looking for a permanent day-shift role with excellent holiday entitlement.

This role would particularly suit applicants with previous experience as a Sliding Head Programmer, CNC Sliding Head Setter or Precision Machinist.

Rates of Pay:

  • £36,500 – £38,500 per annum, depending on experience

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
  • Day shifts only

Day-to-Day Duties:

As a CNC Sliding Head Programmer / Setter, you will work:

  • Programming, setting and operating Citizen Cincom L32 sliding head lathes
  • Producing precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Setting tooling, offsets and machine parameters
  • Making programme adjustments to achieve required tolerances
  • Monitoring machining processes and component quality
  • Carrying out dimensional and quality checks
  • Troubleshooting machining and tooling issues
  • Maintaining high standards of accuracy, productivity, and safety

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a CNC Sliding Head Programmer / Setter, you will need:

  • Previous CNC sliding head machining experience
  • Experience programming and setting sliding head lathes
  • Citizen Cincom experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of tooling and machining processes
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances
  • Good problem-solving skills

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience working within a precision engineering environment
  • Experience producing high-volume precision components
  • Experience working with Citizen Cincom machinery
  • Additional CNC turning experience would be advantageous

Training:

  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your employment
