CNC Programmer / Setter – Wolverhampton

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter to join our well-established engineering client based in Wolverhampton on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC professional looking for a day-shift position with an early Friday finish and 26 days’ annual leave.

This role would particularly suit applicants with previous experience as a CNC Programmer, CNC Setter or Precision Engineer.

Rates of Pay:

  • £34,500 – £38,500 per annum, depending on experience

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
  • Day shifts only

Day-to-Day Duties:

As a CNC Programmer / Setter, you will work:

  • Programming, setting and operating 2 and 3-axis Doosan CNC machines
  • Working with FANUC i-Series controls
  • Producing components accurately to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Setting tooling, offsets and machine parameters
  • Carrying out programme adjustments where required
  • Performing quality and dimensional checks on finished components
  • Maintaining high standards of accuracy and productivity
  • Identifying and resolving machining issues
  • Working safely and efficiently within a busy engineering environment

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a CNC Programmer / Setter, you will need:

  • Previous experience as a CNC Programmer, CNC Setter, CNC Turner or CNC Machinist
  • Strong experience programming and setting CNC machinery
  • Experience with 2 and/or 3-axis CNC machines
  • Knowledge of FANUC controls
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds and tolerances
  • Strong attention to detail

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with Doosan CNC machinery
  • Experience producing components to tight tolerances
  • Additional CNC machining experience would be advantageous

Training:

  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your employment
