Van Delivery Driver – Swindon

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Van Delivery Driver to join our national client based in Swindon.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work and genuine opportunities for progression within a well-established business.

Working as part of a busy distribution team, you will be responsible for completing multi-drop deliveries, maintaining accurate records and ensuring excellent customer service throughout your working day.

This role would suit candidates with experience as a Multi-Drop Driver, Courier Driver or Delivery Driver.

Rates of Pay:

£14.25 per hour

Overtime after 40 hours paid at £21.38 per hour

Shift Pattern:

As a Van Delivery Driver, you will work:

  • Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays
  • 07:45 to 17:15

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a Van Delivery Driver are:

  • Completing multi-drop deliveries, typically 40 to 50 drops per day
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Delivering parcels to clients and customers
  • Collecting parcels from local customers
  • Ensuring all loads are safe and secure during transportation
  • Completing vehicle inspections and reporting any faults or defects
  • Maintaining accurate delivery records and paperwork
  • Communicating effectively with customers and staff at delivery locations

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Van Delivery Driver, you will need:

  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience
  • A valid UK Category B Driving Licence
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle operation and driving regulations
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to identify and report vehicle safety issues
  • A good understanding of road networks and navigation tools
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and use your own initiative
  • A willingness to undergo a DBS check

Desirable Experience:

To be successful as a Van Delivery Driver, it would be beneficial if you have:

  • Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
  • Experience completing high-volume multi-drop deliveries
  • Experience using handheld scanners or delivery tracking systems

Training:

As a Van Delivery Driver, you will receive:

  • Industry-related training
  • Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
